摘要: Repair via O 6-alkylguanine-DNA alkyltransferase (AGT) provides the major pathway for protection from agents that form small 6-alkylguanine lesions in DNA. This protein acts as a single agent to directly remove alkyl group DNA, restoring integrity of DNA one step. review article describes occurrence, structure, function, and mechanism action AGT proteins some related link repair nucleotide excision repair. The effects on susceptibility carcinogens transgenic alterations activity, possible significance human polymorphisms AGT, paradoxical effect whereby they actually potentiate genetic damage caused by dihaloalkane number other bifunctional electrophiles are also covered. Finally, role AGTs providing resistance cancer therapeutic alkylating development inhibitors might overcome this outlined.
