摘要: Population genetic and phylogenetic studies have shown that Phaeosphaeria nodorum is a member of species complex probably shares its center origin with wheat (Triticum aestivum Triticum durum). We examined the evolutionary histories three known necrotrophic effectors (NEs) produced by P. compared them neutral loci. screened over 1000 individuals for presence/absence each effector assigned individual to multi-effector genotype. Diversity at NE locus was assessed sequencing c. 200 locus. found significant differences in frequency among populations. propose these reflect corresponding susceptibility gene cultivars. The population harboring highest sequence diversity different never coincided populations Coalescent analyses showed discontinuous presence all NEs nine closely related species. Only two were harbor NEs. present evidence described transmitted sister species, avenaria tritici 1, via interspecific hybridization. © 2013 New Phytologist Trust.
