摘要: OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy and tolerability of olanzapines haloperidol in treating patients with amphetamine psychosis. MATERIAL AND METHOD Fifty-eight experiencing episode psychosis were randomly assigned to olanzapine (N=29) or 1:1 (olanzapine: haloperidol) ratio. All started 5-10 mg/day study drug; after each 7-day period, drug could be adjusted 5-mg increments decrements within allowed dose range 5-20 during 4-week double-blind period. RESULTS Clinical response was seen both treatment groups since first week. Ninety three percent (N=27 29) 79.3% (N=23 27) clinically improved at endpoint. These differences not statistically significant (p=0.25). The Simpson-Angus total score change from baseline endpoint reflected no extrapyramidal symptoms among olanzapine-treated (median=0.0, range=0.0). In contrast, worsening occurred haloperidol-treated (median=0.2, range=0.0-3.1). mean Simpson Angus Scale significantly favored (p<0.01). Change on Barnes Akathisia showed that patients' scores close range=-1.0-0.0), whereas worsened range=-1.0-3.0). This difference (p=0.02). CONCLUSION Both efficacious Olanzapine superior conventional neuroleptic safety lower frequency severity symptoms.
