摘要: We present a maximum likelihood argument for the Bennett acceptance ratio method, and derive simple formula variance of free energy estimates generated using this method. This derivation form logistic regression, common statistical technique, allows us to shed additional light on underlying physical properties For example, we demonstrate that method yields lowest any estimator which is unbiased in limit large numbers measurements.
