摘要: Abstract The Slave Craton is composed of five Archaean terranes that accreted during the Neoarchean. Central superterrane only tectonic block containing evidence four major sedimentary successions, including 1) a quartz arenite-dominated succession deposited on an extensive tide-influenced coastline along rifted continental margin, 2) turbidite-dominated developed as submarine fans in fore-arc or intra-arc basin, 3) second turbidite representing deep water deposition back-arc and 4) late conglomerate-dominated successions fluvial, alluvial fan shallow depositional settings strike-slip basins. Deposition rocks took place between ca. 3.1 Ga 2.6 Ga, indicating complex history. An unconformity gneissic basement overlying arenite marks marine flooding surface consistent with first order sea level change. A hiatus lies arc-backarc related volcanic deposits interstratified conformably strata. Late conglomerate are exposed north-trending lineaments overlie all rock units unconformably. This represents fundamental change from compression uplift to transcurrent motion final stages craton stabilization. Between 2630 2580 Ma, Province experienced considerable pluton emplacement, which disaggregated much once-continuous stratigraphy. Wheeler diagram illustrates events occurred formation superterrane, however, remaining uncertainties concerning evolution entire reflect need for additional detailed field investigations.
