摘要: The link between cholesterol homeostasis and male fertility has been clearly suggested in patients who suffer from hyperlipidemia metabolic syndrome. This confirmed by the generation of several transgenic mouse models or animals fed with high diet. Next to alteration endocrine signaling pathways through steroid receptors (androgen estrogen receptors); "orphan" "adopted" nuclear receptors, such as Liver X Receptors (LXRs), Proliferating Peroxisomal Activated (PPARs) Receptor Homolog-1 (LRH-1), have involved this cross-talk. These transcription factors show distinct expression patterns genital tract, explaining large panel phenotypes observed mice highlighting importance lipid homesostasis complexity molecular involved. Increasing our knowledge roles these germ cell differentiation could help proposing new approaches either treat infertile men define strategies for contraception.
