摘要: The chapter provides an overview of masonry as a sustainable construction material. It deals primarily with clay brickwork and concrete blockwork describes their manufacture principal properties regards to sustainability. broader issues associated sustainability are briefly discussed the current methods for quantifying whole life environmental performance walling used in residential commercial buildings within UK examined. Examples that ‘more sustainable’ terms operational energy and/or material usage given, together brief outline possible future developments area.
