摘要: “Cord factors” are diesters of α,α-trehalose produced by Mycobacteriae and Corynebacteriae. Saponification the “cord factor” Corynebacterium diphtheriae gives an equimolecular mixture homologues saturated corynomycolic unsaturated corynomycolenic acids (I II, R = H). Mass spectrometry their methyl esters confirms structures (see Fig.1, CH3).
