摘要: Microcompression tests were performed to determine the mechanical behavior of nano-crystalline Cu/Fe and Fe/Cu multilayers, as well monolithic Cu Fe thin films. The results show that micropillars pure film bulge out under large compressive strains without failure, while those crack near top at low followed by shear failure. For layers accommodate majority plastic deformation, geometry constraints imposed exaggerates bulging in layers. However, existence ductile does not improve overall ductility multilayers. Cracking directly lead failure multilayer micropillars, although have very good ductility. imply suppressing cracking brittle is more important than simply adding for improving metallic
