摘要: The new species Clavatoraxis microcharophorus is described from the Lower Maastrichtian of Eastern Pyrenees (Catalonia, Spain). Microchara sp. gyrogonites were found in anatomical connection with this thallus, attached to bract-cell rosettes and coated by a structural tunica, formed an expanded bract cell. This feature unknown extant characeans, which only display lime incrustations similar tunicae extremely alkaline well-illuminated environments. first time that complete fossil characean described. attribution vegetative remains genus shows not exclusive clavatoraceans as previously thought. taphonomic study C. nov. associated charophytes, along sedimentological microfacies analyses, has enabled us characterize habitat lake Vallcebre. They grew forming meadows, their deposited poorly oxygenated bottom, where they well preserved. A number other characeans porocharaceans living shallower belts. was case for Peckichara Munieria grambasti freshwater lacustrine meadows. Another species, Feistiella malladae, parautochthonous brackish lakes.
