摘要: Public concern for animal welfare has progressively grown over the recent years. In this context, stress a great economical impact on growth of animals and quality products. The development validation methods to assess stress, particularly at farm level, are desirable evaluate production systems. Piemontese breed is traditionally tie-stall housed in fattening period. Hence, objective study was characterise profile physiological haematological changes beef cattle under different management conditions (tie-stall loose housing). Our results suggest that housing system an important factor welfare. Indeed, values total protein, lysozyme, cortisol, serum faecal corticosterone concentration GR-α gene expression indicate more stressful than system. All alterations highlighted considered together may be effective biomarkers disease susceptibility.
