Nail psoriasis in Germany: epidemiology and burden of disease.

摘要: Summary Background  Although nail psoriasis affects a marked proportion of patients with and causes significant psychological stress, only few epidemiological data characterizing involvement are available. Objectives  To gain robust on the epidemiology disease burden in Germany. Methods  Two nationwide, noninterventional, cross-sectional studies health care were conducted 2005 2007, involving 48 (2005) 130 (2007) German office-based clinic-based dermatological centres. Data n = 3531 collected using standardized questionnaires physical examinations by trained dermatologists. Patients compared without any concerning sex, age, duration, family history, severity, presence psoriatic arthritis (PsA), health-related quality life (HRQoL), number inpatient therapies, days off work. Results  Nail was diagnosed 40·9% patients; prevalence 11·2 percentage points higher men than women. had longer duration (21·9 vs. 18·1 years), severity (mean Psoriasis Area Severity Index 12·7 9·3), frequency PsA (26·0% 12·7%), stronger impairment HRQoL Dermatology Life Quality 8·9 7·3), 2·5-fold rate treatments. Conclusions  is relevant manifestation associated impairment. Accordingly, management should include special focus involvement.
