摘要: Recent studies indicate that the cytokine B-cell activating factor (BAFF) is involved in pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) standard treatment for CIDP and known to rapidly modulate increased serum levels pro-inflammatory cytokines. We evaluated expression profile BAFF its corresponding BAFF-receptor samples from patients, focusing on rapid changes before after IVIg treatment. In patients concentrations were elevated compared controls. Treatment with high-dose restored those levels. Whereas did not affect production monocytes, antibodies against could be detected preparations, which may explain short-term decrease Our data suggest plays an important role serve as marker response.
