Ground states and dynamics of population-imbalanced Fermi condensates in one dimension

摘要: By using the numerically exact density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) approach, we investigate ground states of harmonically trapped one-dimensional (1D) fermions with population imbalance and find that Larkin-Ovchinnikov (LO) state, which is a condensed state fermion pairs nonzero center-of-mass momentum, realized for wide range parameters. The phase diagram comprising two phases i) an LO at trap center balanced condensate periphery ii) pure majority component periphery, obtained. reduced two-body density matrix indicates most minority atoms contribute to LO-type quasi-condensate. With time-dependent DMRG, also real-time dynamics system 1D in response spin-flip excitation.
