摘要: Due to the small footprint and good performance, Multimode Interference (MMI) structures are building blocks with significant importance in design of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). These devices have many applications their use as splitter or couplers some most commonly used.In this paper, we present a tool MMI splitters/couplers for PICs based on coupled mode theory. This allows dimensions possible while maintaining performance low excess losses. The proposed that users different technical backgrounds can an coupler/splitter. Thus, it is useful academic proposes but also offers starting point experts access high optimization software. Beam Propagation Method (BPM) was used validate designed achieving losses below 0.8 dB.
