Sm2Ta2Cl2O7: A New Samarium Chlorotantalate

摘要: Abstract The starting material was prepared by heating amounts of SmOCl/Ta 2 O 5 /Ta/Se in an evacuated quartz tube. Sm Ta Cl 7 single crystals were obtained chemical transport reactions using NH 4 as agent. It crystallizes the monoclinic space group C 2/ m with a = 15.290(4) A, b 3.903(2) c 6.862(2) and β 113.92(2)°. structure refined to final R value 2.8% 1123 reflections. shows three-dimensional arrangement is built up from layers octahedral dimers alternating face-capped trigonal prismatic dimers.
