Anomalous and Ordinary Hall Effect in Terbium

摘要: The anomalous and ordinary Hall coefficients Rs R0 defined by the relation ρH≡R0B+Rs4πM have been obtained for single‐crystal Tb in both ordered paramagnetic states. Results component of resistivity ρH characterized H (and M) basal plane 1010 easy axis Tb) show that is linear above TN exhibits a strong temperature dependence which almost entirely due to magnetic susceptibility. found equal −40.4×10−12 Ω·cm/G independent. Below coefficient from saturation reverses sign, passes through maximum near 140°K (where Rs=+22.4×10−12 Ω·cm/G) falls 0 below 30°K. Possible mechanisms this unique sign reversal are discussed.
