摘要: The parallel implementation of an unstructured-grid, three-dimensional, semi-implicit finite difference and volume model for the free surface Navier–Stokes equations (UnTRIM) is presented discussed. new developments are aimed to make code available high-performance computing in order address larger, complex problems environmental flows. parallelization based on mesh partitioning method message passing has been achieved without negatively affecting any advantageous properties serial code, such as its robustness, accuracy efficiency. key issue a new, autonomous streamline backtracking algorithm, which allows using semi-Lagrangian methods decomposed meshes compromising scalability code. carefully verified not only with simple, abstract test cases illustrating application domain but also advanced, high-resolution models presently applied research engineering projects. scheme performance aspects researched Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
