摘要: Both otoacoustic emission (OAE) and psychoacoustic measures provide insights into active cochlear processes in the human auditory system. This chapter provides an overview of similarities these two measures, one a physiological response generated within cochlea (OAEs) other behavioral measure reflecting processing periphery, but also at all levels system, including cortex. The major phenomena that will be reviewed here are OAE behavioral-threshold microstructure, estimates cochlear-response growth, frequency specificity cochlea, tuning upward spread suppression/masking.
