摘要: This chapter examines the gendered, performed and embodied dimensions of devotion to St Antony in an inner city, London parish. It explores ways which institutional rituals customs are transformed through transnational flow people, cultural practices historic understandings, examination Tamil Catholics Hindus worshipping together at Tuesday Novena, alongside a diverse community from around world includes large Irish Traveller contingent. As both these case studies illustrate, contemporary migrant religious practice is redefining enriching this pre-conciliar extra-liturgical sacramental, thereby enabling ‘traditional’ Catholic devotional function as innovative space for prayer, communion convivial, inter-religious encounter.
