摘要: A study of large-scale traveling ionospheric disturbances has been carried out by investigating the signatures they leave in columnar electron content records. Columnar was obtained at a number widely spaced stations measuring Faraday rotation angle signal from geostationary satellite. The results observations February 1967 to November 1968 are presented. simple model relating variations concentration produced passage atmospheric gravity waves changes is developed. Using this observed fluctuations shown be consistent with effects expected neutral waves. Virtually all studied occurred during magnetically disturbed periods tendency for more frequent occurrence near middle magnetic storms. good correlation between relative amplitudes disturbances, defined as rms amplitude perturbations divided unperturbed content, and Kp exist. exhibit diurnal variation speed direction travel. not completely explained. average travel source located dipole latitude 78°N 1900 geomagnetic time. It suggested that originate auroral oval polar substorms.
