The distinction between the magnetic properties of quasicrystalline and amorphous Al85-xPd15Mnx alloys

摘要: Quasicrystalline and amorphous Al85-xPd15Mnx (x=12,13,14,15) alloys have been prepared by rapid melt quenching high-rate DC sputtering. The saturation magnetic moment Ms, the Mn atom ratio, per Ps spin glass behaviour investigated for both these phases. temperature dependence of susceptibility quasicrystalline follows a Curie-Weiss law over wide range. value Ms average (Pc) are much smaller than those alloys. ratio in phase is about 10%, being almost half that similar manner to Al80-xCu20Mnx (x=13, 14 15) alloy system. concentration Pc steeper phase, Al70Pd15Mn15 exceeds 5 mu B bare Mn. It is, therefore, considered giant formed polarization 4d electrons Pd alloy. present phases magnetically dilute has observed. freezing Tf lower accordance with ratio. From results, marked difference properties between confirmed, reflecting their different local atomic structure.
