摘要: Abstract For this study, we analyzed the performance of wave model Wavewatch III ® forced by a limited area atmospheric in Mediterranean Sea. The simulation results have been compared to buoy measurements through single point statistical indicators such as normalized bias and symmetrically root mean square error. A evaluation growth-dissipation source terms their reference parameterizations was carried out on seventeen case studies corresponding storms Northern Tyrrhenian Sea off Spanish coast. introduced Ardhuin et al. (2010) proved be best overall choice, although they led an overestimation significant height under calm conditions underestimation severe conditions. sensitivity analysis parameter space performed within neighborhood parameterization (2010), calibration reduce positive height. Furthermore, investigate effect from wind forcing resolution, data with different resolutions used analysis. Because mesoscale features are relevant dynamics, further investigation into impact resolution set ten characterized strong patterns. comparison simulations using shows that high affected so-called double penalty effect, some cases, apparently provide better qualitative description event. Finally, hindcast covering 32 years (from 1979 2010) developed its calibrated variant. An dataset reveals it performs than over wide range heights, seas moderate, whereas increases tendency underestimate
