摘要: Recent research has shown that within-gender variability in olfactory abilities may be linked to sexual orientation, particularly men, but is better predicted by childhood gender nonconformity. However, whether there could similar odor awareness remains unclear. Further, differences and favor of women have been proposed partly related women’s broader experience due their greater engagement olfaction-related activities. Nevertheless, exposure also expected. Therefore, a sample 156 men (83 non-heterosexual), we aimed look for between- self-reported specific Secondly, tested interindividual (between- within-gender) might with odors, assessed terms The results the present study show variability, previously found some women, does not seem extend awareness, appears only apply certain In total sample, more frequent variety potentially intense or novel food odors flavors both adulthood was positively identification. There positive link between female-stereotyped activities awareness. Our suggest long-term everyday ability identification although longitudinal studies are needed further investigate these associations.
