Power distribution for SLHC trackers: Challenges and solutions

摘要: Abstract The inner tracking detectors of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) consume tens kilowatts power. Getting power from rack supply to has proved be challenging, inefficient and cumbersome. At Super-LHC (SLHC), traditional approach delivering for each detector module independently will fail. Solving distribution problem at SLHC been recognized as a critical challenge, significant R&D effort is being devoted solving it. There are number promising concepts, including serial powering parallel combined with local DC–DC conversion, which discussed in this introduction overview article.
