摘要: Background: Plant-derived antioxidants have been products of choice in therapeutic formulations for their potent free radical scavenging activity and mitigating curing illnesses diseases associated with oxidative stress. Capparis L. includes species unprecedented nutritional medicinal values, hence offers a diverse pool phytochemicals implicated antioxidant activity. Objective: The current study was designed to assess the chemical variation, total phenols content (TPC), flavonoids (TFC), vitro vivo activities different extracts obtained from cartilaginea ovata Jordan. Materials Methods: ethanolic extract each partitioned solvents TPC, TFC, examined. were tested by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 2,2'-Azino–bis (3-ethylbenzoline-6-sulfonic acid diammonium salt (ABTS) methods addition metal ion chelating effect (MCE) hydroxyl assay methods. butanol investigated its on serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) glutathione peroxidase (GPX) mice (100 mg/kg, intraperitoneally 12 days). Results: fraction both plants had dose-dependent treatment days significantly increased SOD GPX. Principal component analysis indicated that DPPH, major variability two species. Results this underscores enrichment studied phenolics could account much activities.
