摘要: Aim The majority (64%) of the extant 1153 mammalian genera occupy only one zoogeographical region and can in that sense be referred to as endemic region. The aim this study was find out if differ ecological characteristics, e.g. taxonomy, body size, feeding substrate use, from with a more cosmopolitan distribution, were distributed along productivity gradient. Location The sixteen major regions world, including continents, islands oceans. Methods We grouped mammal according their distribution (one region) (4–12 regions), respectively. Further, we divided eleven terrestrial world into continental island examined effect on number genera. Results We found statistically significant differences order, mass, habit utilization between two groups. dominated by order Rodentia mainly small-sized, insectivore, frugivore/omnivore or herbivore, semifossorial, arboreal. small fraction (5%) widest regions) belonged orders Chiroptera, Cetacea Carnivora either small- large-sized, piscivore/squid-eater aquatic, volant. We weak relationships for both sets positive slope negative regions. As all productive than regions, most common intermediately overall. Main conclusions We conclude there are mammals.
