摘要: Breast cancer is the most prevalent in women. X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (XIAP) that constantly overexpressed a promising therapeutic target treatments. The mechanisms anticancer effects carotenoid isolates Spondias mombim DMBA-induced breast Wistar rats through XIAP antagonism were investigated present study. Carotenoids isolated from leaves subjected to Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS) and Electrospray Ionization (ESI) for characterization. characterized docked against BIR2 domain BIR3 domain. also expression XIAP, COX-2, TNF, BCl-2 mRNAs by qRT-PCR biochemical parameters catalase, lipid peroxidation, LDH, ALP, ALT. These show demonstrate proapoptotic, anti-inflammatory properties. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: study showed carotenoids (astaxanthin, β-carotene-15,15'-epoxide, 7,7',8,8'-tetrahydro-β, β-carotene) are it further gives credence chemopreventive abilities carotenoids. This validated as druggable treatment hence more phytochemicals should be screened it, possible lead compounds plant origin. Cancer cells often explore antiapoptotic resistance tendencies, hence, β-carotene-15,15'-epoxide β-carotene (XIAP antagonists) drug candidates can withstand resistant prone apoptotic cell death. There need synthesize 7,7',8,8'-tetrahydro-β investigation clinical studies.
