摘要: An examination of the equatorial boundary auroral oval (as defined by quiet-time electron precipitations) reveals a periodic variation its latitudinal location. The period oscillation is 24-hours and amplitude about 4°. This diurnal seen in evening morning sectors phase as northern southern hemispheres. observed attributed to UT size association with daily precession geomagnetic pole. smaller when pole near local midnight around 0600 UT; it larger noon 1800 UT. edges sector quiet (1900–2100 MLT) are located at 72° 69° CGL, respectively, which correspond minimum oval.
