摘要: A phylogenetic analysis using 28S and 18S rDNA provides evidence that the tribe Eucraniini is a monophyletic group sister-group of Phanaeini Dichotomiini. Our molecular phylogeny dung beetle tribes strong for monophyly subfamily Scarabaeinae. The well supported it includes genera Anomiopsoides Blackwelder, Ennearabdus van Lansberge, Eucranium Brulle Glyphoderus Westwood. food-lifting relocation behaviour present in species Eucranium, considered derived condition most probably evolved from tunnelling behaviour. preference dry or pellets by genera, feeding on plant material Anomiopsoides, are apomorphic. analyses suggest rolling Scarabaeinae at least twice during their evolution. incidence high endemicity beetles Monte biogeographic province Argentina suggests area constitutes an independent centre hypothesis vicariant event was responsible divergence Neotropical lineage ancestral to Phanaeini. isolation occurred after Andean uplift Quechua diastrophism (middle Miocene) resulted creation xeric plains austral regions South America.
