摘要: EU fisheries sector suffers of low economic viability while European Commission has proposed adoption new managerial approach on the sector. After World Summit Sustainable Development took place in Johanensburg 2002, E.U. member states among others, commit their self to manage basis principle Maximum Yield (MSY), that is optimal quantity products taken out from stock without compromise its capacity regenerate for future. Nowadays majority fishing stocks are “overfishing” status, which means there a surplus effort fleets. This by point view defined as overcapitalization (many boats, many gears). Technical Efficiency critical any Fisheries scheme be successful. looks combination inputs achieve given outputs. Empirical measurement technical efficiency falls possible through estimation parametric production functions and non – functions. Two differed methodologies (DEA SPF) were used Greek Middle Scale vessels conclude both methods can provide information efficiency. Three different types tested like trawlers, mixed (acting trawlers purse seines) finally seines. Current research resulted various fleet segments efficiency, type data needed measure fleet’s characteristics efficient utilization same vessels. Finally advantages disadvantages each methodology provided measurement.
