摘要: Abstract The mating system represents one key element of a species’ life history. Although some history traits the edible dormouse (Glis glis) have been investigated thoroughly, little information is available about this arboreal, nocturnal, hibernating rodent. Molecular studies suggested that polygynandry and high prevalence multiple sired litters are typical among small rodent species. Previous behavioral proposed promiscuous for dormouse, but clear evidence still missing. In study, genetic G. glis was evaluated by genotyping free-living dam-offspring groups. Based on assumption males establish territories at least during season, male individuals in vicinity selected females were included investigation. Parentage assignment conducted applying COLONY GERUD software, using 19 polymorphic microsatellite loci. Multiple within population dormice detected both programs, since all two males. Therefore, results provide first polygynandrous paternity occurring wild dormice. However, analysis chosen revealed low rate offspring to candidate sires. These findings support previous hypotheses non-territoriality
