摘要: Dietary salt reduction and exercise are lifestyle modifications for salt-sensitive hypertensives. While has prominent metabolic effects, an adverse effect on syndrome, of which hypertension is a hallmark. We hypothesized that dietary impacts metabolism in model hypertension. An untargeted metabolomic approach demonstrates lower circulating levels the ketone body, beta-hydroxybutyrate (βOHB), high salt-fed hypertensive rats. Despite intake, specific rescue βOHB by nutritional supplementation its precursor, 1,3-butanediol, attenuates protects kidney function. This beneficial was likely independent gut-microbiotal Th17-mediated effects instead facilitated inhibiting renal Nlrp3 inflammasome. The juxtaposed hypertension, decrease increase respectively, indicate precursor provides similar benefit to as exercise.
