Silica modified nanofiltration membranes with improved selectivity for redox flow battery application

摘要: Nanofiltration (NF) membranes with in situ assembled silica on the surface and pores were proposed successfully prepared for vanadium redox flow battery (VRB) applications to improve vanadium/proton selectivity. VRBs modified exhibited much higher Coulombic efficiency than that original NF membranes, while a similar voltage efficiency. The results indicate modification can effectively increase membranes' ion selectivity maintain good ion-conducting properties. concept provides an effective way fabricate high performance porous VRB applications.
