摘要: Recent studies suggest that carbon monoxide (CO), which is produced in significant quantities many brain regions including the hypothalamus, may function as a neurotransmitter. The purpose of present study therefore was to access whether CO capable regulating secretion hypothalamic releasing factor, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). To this end, medial basal hypothalami were obtained from estrogen-primed ovariectomized adult rats and incubated vitro for 1 hour preincubation period followed by 30 minute incubation with either vehicle or test compounds. media then collected GnRH determination RIA. Hematin, heme molecule cleaved oxygenase (HO) yield CO, dose-dependently stimulated release 50 microM being lowest effective dose. effect hematin not due toxic all groups responded KCL stimulation at end experiment. required HO cleavage evidenced fact inh...
