摘要: The locus coeruleus (LC) is one of the essential chemoregulatory and sleep–wake (S–W) modulating centers in brain. LC neurons remain highly active during wakefulness, some implicitly become silent rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. are also involved CO2-dependent modulation respiratory drive. Acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) expressed brainstem chemosensory breathing regulatory areas, but their localization functions unknown. Mild hypercapnia increases amount non-REM (NREM) sleep number REM episodes, whether ASICs modulate S–W unclear. Here, we investigated presence role state transition from NREM to Male Wistar rats were surgically prepared for chronic polysomnographic recordings drug microinjections into LC. ASIC-2 ASIC-3 was immunohistochemically characterized. Microinjections amiloride (an ASIC blocker) APETx2 (a blocker -3) significantly decreased wakefulness sleep, increased episodes. However, microinjection inhibited this increase frequency. These results suggest that S–W, indicating could play an important vigilance-state transition. A mild CO2 level sensed by be determinants
