摘要: Ricin toxin is an extraordinarily potent inducer of cell death and inflammation. also a provocateur the humoral immune system, eliciting mixture neutralizing, non-neutralizing even toxin-enhancing antibodies. The characterization dozens monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against toxin’s enzymatic (RTA) binding (RTB) subunits has begun to reveal fundamental insights into underlying mechanisms by which neutralize (or fail neutralize) ricin in systemic mucosal compartments. This information had immediate applications design, development evaluation subunit vaccines immunotherapeutics.
