摘要: Abstract RTV-5370 is a filled polydimethylsilxoane–polymethylphenylsiloxane copolymer system originally developed by Dow Corning and now supplied Rhone Poulenc. There desire to develop lifetime assessments of this material for certification programs as model understanding other siloxane polymer systems. We have initiated aging studies on these materials employing accelerated tests with exposure Co-60 γ-radiation. The effects radiation been investigated thermal (differential scanning calorimetry), mechanical (dynamic analysis), chemical (solvent swelling), segmental dynamics (nuclear magnetic resonance) methods. data show that undergoes predominately radiation-induced crosslinking reactions over the dose range investigated. These reduce molecular weight between crosslinks, thereby hardening composite reducing motional motion. DSC dependent crystallization phenomena.
