Background Exploration implicit practices, such as restriction, is essential ensuring that care delivered children addresses their developmental needs. Data sources A questionnaire was developed consisted two sections: vignettes and professional personal characteristics nurse. It sent 166 nurses 105 questionnaires were returned, resulting response rate 63.3 per cent. Review methods The included identifying determining levels independent variables, dependent variable, writing vignette frame associated questions, randomly generating vignettes. Discussion Reliability tool established significant correlation found responses with Pearson's r=0.80. There small between five 14 variables variable 'likelihood child procedure'. Conclusion be robust exploring sensitive issue, allowing inclusion multiple consideration analysis. Implications research/practice enables rigorous exploration influences profession across broad spectrum scenarios, offers in-depth insight into effect differentiations these variety delivery situations how they influence behavioural intentions.
