摘要: Abstract To make sense of the complexity world so that they can act, individuals and institutions need to develop simplified, self-consistent versions world. The process doing means much what is known about needs be excluded from those versions, in particular knowledge which tension or outright contradiction with must expunged. This ‘uncomfortable knowledge’. paper describes four implicit strategies use keep uncomfortable at bay: denial, dismissal, diversion displacement. It concludes by suggesting ‘clumsy’ arrangements may constructed ensure not policy debates, especially when dealing ‘wicked problems’ where accepted version excludes crucial for making addressing problem.
