摘要: This paper presents a series of table-top and sled tests evaluating the thoracic force-deformation response when force-limited, second shoulder belt is added to 3-point system. The ratio forces applied by thetwo belts evaluated from 0 (single belt) 1 (equalforce both belts). A Hybrid III, THOR, three human cadavers are tested in table top environment. THOR used evaluate findings dynamic impact show that effective stiffness thorax increases as function force ratio, with slope decreasing increases. mimics this concave-down shape, but more sensitive addition than human. At 0.2 (i.e. having 20% limit first added), THOR's 80%, while human's only about 20%. indicates may tend over-state benefit would derive fromthe supplemental frontal impact. The III did not have concave down shape. Instead, its was linear much less belt. 0.2, approximately 2% greater single consistent pronounced reductions maximum chest deflection were observed For covering abstract see ITRD E134311.
