摘要: Ethylene, the simple but vital gaseous hormone, affects an extensive array of developmental processes and responses to external internal cues in plants. Extensive molecular genetic investigations during past two decades have established a linear ethylene signaling pathway starting from endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane-spanning receptors nuclear-localized transcription factors model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. The involves negative regulation by receptor family members Raf-like CONSTITUTIVE TRIPLE-RESPONSE1 (CTR1) positive ER-associated ETHYLENE INSENSITIVE2 (EIN2) EIN3 EIN3-LIKE1 (EIL1). Although is molecule that switches off receptors, several components fine-tune signaling. In this chapter, we briefly summarize studies signal transduction give overall picture cascade. We also discuss regulatory modifying pathway. Finally, pose intriguing questions related actions.
