摘要: The morpho‐physiological traits associated with seed yield in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) were evaluated on thirty fiv e chickpea genotypes under two different water regimes. In optimum condition, the highest correlation was belonged to number of seeds/plant and pods/plant (0.944**) water deficit strongest ob‐ served (0.875**), (0.789 **) 100‐seed weight (0.438**). Physiological traits (RWC, Chloro‐ phyll Carotenoid) indicated low and positive yield, but high positive other seeds yields related traits condition while, chlorophyll content and RWC had non‐significant negative correlation seeds yield. Carot e‐ noid, showed more direct posi‐ tive effect optimum environment stress seeds/ plant direct Results factor analysis that four factors explained 88.54% 34.5% total variance cause d characters environment, respectively. In general, results suggested a cultivar, for increased non‐stress conditions, should have maximum pods per conditions maximum number also keep high level RW C content in their leaves. Thus, identifying these as selection criteria breeding program may be useful breeders introduce suitable drought resistant cultivars arid regions.
