On processing-structure-property relations and high ionic conductivity in garnet-type Li 5 La 3 Ta 2 O 12 solid electrolyte thin films grown by CO 2 -laser assisted CVD

摘要: Abstract This study reports on the optimization of garnet-type Li-ion conducting Li 5 La 3 Ta 2 O 12 (LLTaO) solid electrolyte thin film growth by CO -laser assisted chemical vapor deposition (LA-CVD) and films' detailed structural as well electrochemical characterization. By adapting LA-CVD process parameters, high quality LLTaO films with tailored microstructures are successfully grown, which allows to correlate microstructure phase composition their performance. Explicitly, influence grain boundaries ionic conductivity is studied, possible strategies lower boundary resistance given. As deposited show a total 7.8·10 − 6  S·cm − 1 at 298 K (activation energy 0.66 eV). applying post-annealing treatment improved up 3.8·10 − 5 0.52 eV). among highest conductivities reported for so far. A better suitability fundamental research application in all-solid-state lithium ion batteries compared commonly investigated 7 Zr proposed discussed.
