System and method for compressing images using multi-threshold wavelet coding

摘要: A system and method for performing image compression using multi-threshold wavelet coding (MTWC) which utilizes a separate initial quantization threshold each subband generated by the transform, substantially reduces number of insignificant bits during steps. Further, MTWC chooses order in subbands are encoded according to preferred rate-distortion tradeoff enhance fidelity. Moreover, novel sequence optimize amount error energy reduction significant refinement maps step. Thus, provides better bit performs faster than existing state-of-the-art coders.
