摘要: The study of a thin-walled column structure has gained much attention due to its potential in many engineering applications, such as the crash box car. A square usually exhibits high initial peak force, which may become very dangerous driver or passenger. To address this issue, introducing some shape patterns, e.g., origami folding pattern, solution. present work investigates compressive properties and behavior adopts Miura pattern. Several test pieces single-cell with varying angle layer height are fabricated by 3D printer. filament is made Polylactic Acid (PLA), brittle material. Then, compression tests carried out understand mechanical behavior. results show that pattern form can dramatically lower down stress 96.82% and, at same time, increase ductility, eventually improves energy absorption capacity 61.68% despite fracture
