摘要: Prescribed burning is an important management tool in many parts of the world. While natural fires generally occur during driest and warmest period year, prescribed often timed out-of-season, when there higher soil moisture lower biomass combustibility. However, fire season may influence seedling recruitment after fire, e.g. through effect seed hydration status on tolerance. In non-fire-prone temperate regions, anthropogenic exclusively periods outside growing with moisture, which have negative consequences recruitment. Fire tolerance moist dry seeds 16 European herbaceous species belonging to four families was assessed using heat treatment 100 °C for 5 min subsequent germination trials. Moist Asteraceae, Poaceae Brassicaceae had a predominantly reaction treatment, while those Fabaceae tolerated it or even enhanced. The completely different, positive responses three other families. Our results point out that significantly post-fire seeds. Dry were found tolerate high heat, harmed more than half species. This implies if applied grasslands Europe, should be dormant order protect from effects fire.
