摘要: Purpose The emissary veins (EVs) passing through the foramen ovale (FO) are not well understood. aim of this study was to characterize these using contrast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Methods In total, 85 patients underwent thin-sliced, MRI. Coronal and sagittal images were used for analysis. Results EVs FO delineated in 100% on 97% coronal images. On images, could be classified into lateral, medial, perineural types association with mandibular division trigeminal nerve (V3) segment FO. 22% slides, medial EV more predominant than lateral one, while 64% latter predominant. identified coursed medially V3 68% laterally 72% 165 sides. most frequently along both surfaces V3. angles formed by midline lower margin 81.5 ± 11.9° left side 80.0 12.2° right, they 61.5 12.1° 64.8 11.3° right. Conclusions structures that may characterized a well-developed venous channel aspect nearly symmetrical orientation V3s lying
