摘要: The Ultracone feed system will be implemented on DSS 43 to support the S-band (2.3 GHz) Galileo contingency mission. installed in host country’s cone, which is normally used for radio astronomy, VLBI, and holography. design must retain existing radio-astronomy capabilities, could impaired by shadowing from large horn. Computer calculations were completed estimate performance efiects various conflgurations of cone systems. Also, DSS-43 using higher gain horns was analyzed. A new horn with improved return loss cross-polarization characteristics presented.
