摘要: Algae grow quickly, can be cultivated to have a high oil (triacylglyceride) content, and grown on nonarable land with brackish or salt water. These characteristics make them an attractive source of biomass for renewable biofuels. The U.S. Navy commercial airlines demonstrated the use algal biofuel in ships planes; blending ultralow-sulfur diesel fuel reduced pollutants particulate matter improved economy during operation marine vessel Great Lakes ( 1 ). Algae-derived is very expensive, however, most cost associated producing biomass. has contracted pay $12 million 450,000 gallons (1.7 liters) biofuel, which works out about $27/gallon 10 times petroleum-derived [see, example, 2 )]. Chemical reactions hot, compressed water (hydrothermal reactions) supercritical fluids provide new, potentially cheaper paths fuels from wet 3
